Mr. Sanjaya Mariwala has dedicated his career to bettering lives and making preventive healthcare a daily reality, as well as working towards mainstream global acceptance for the nutraceutical industry. Drawing on deep knowledge of natural medicinal solutions in India, coupled with strong technology progress, he works towards positioning the Indian nutraceutical sector on the world stage.
Guided by this mission, Mr. Mariwala founded OmniActive Health Technologies in 2004 with the vision to improve health through science and innovation. The firm develops branded natural APIs and PFIs for nutrition, health, and wellness products. His leadership approach focuses on value creation, and at OmniActive, he has built an organization that creates value across products, stakeholders, and the wider ecosystem.
Mr. Mariwala shapes the industry through his active participation as chairman of the nutraceutical subcommittee at FICCI and founder president of the Association of Herbal and Nutraceuticals Manufacturers of India. He works with industry participants and policymakers through these responsibilities to help guide the growth in the sector and build stronger positions for India as a global player in nutraceuticals.
His experience in leading industry bodies comes from long-standing engagements with trade and export associations. He has served as President of the India Pepper and Spice Trade Association and the All India Spices Exporters Forum. He also chaired the Confederation of Indian Industry in Kerala, Indian Merchants Chamber, and TIE – The Indus Entrepreneurs, contributing to sector development and policy dialogue.
Mr. Mariwala is an Independent Director on the board of Cravatex Brands, a platform for lifestyle, sports and wellness products. He is also a Director on the boards of Auto Hangar, one of India’s largest Mercedes dealerships, and VKL Seasonings, the largest seasonings and flavours solutions provider in the country. These roles avail him insight into consumer trends, business scale, and operational excellence across sectors.
Having owned businesses for nearly four decades, Mr. Mariwala is passionate about mentoring the younger generation. For him, their technology-driven worldview inspires him to merge advanced thinking with sustainable living as he contributes to the development of future leaders.
