Mr. Vikas Gadre has over five decades of experience as a senior executive and advisor in corporate leadership, governance, and mentorship. Currently, he serves as an Independent Director and Strategic Advisor; his well-rounded perspective has been developed through leading large organizations, responsibility for key financial market infrastructure, and guiding both established companies and emerging startups.
From 2022 to 2025, Mr. Gadre has held the position of Public Interest Director at the Clearing Corporation of the Bombay Stock Exchange, chairing the Standing Committee on Technology and championing the adoption of artificial intelligence and automation. He has led the Nomination and Remuneration Committee in appointing senior leadership. His roles strengthened his expertise in financial, operational, and technology governance through involvement in the respective Risk and Audit Committees. He has also served as an Independent Director for a listed company and an IoT startup.
Mr. Gadre’s industry career spans leadership roles at Tata Chemicals, Rallis India, and Eureka Forbes, besides his stint as Director General of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. At Tata Chemicals, he led major technology transformations as CIO and subsequently led a biofuels business and a complex cross-border agri project in Mozambique. Working across strategy, technology, and operations allows him to advise high-growth companies on scaling systems, managing transitions, and building resilient organizations.
Apart from his corporate roles, Mr. Gadre has been actively involved in academia and mentorship. Mr. Gadre teaches Technology Applications for Business and Business Analytics at NMIMS University and mentors student projects. He serves on the Academic Council of Presidency University and has served on the Board of Governors of NITTTR. He also mentors multiple MSMEs under a programme supported by the Asian Development Bank and the UK government, allowing him to stay connected to emerging technologies and young talent.
Mr. Gadre graduated with B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1973, PGDM from IIM Bangalore in 1977, and is a qualified Company Secretary. He is also a certified mediator from the Bombay High Court and has been recognized among the Top 50 CIOs in the World by Information Week. Today, he focuses on contributing as an Independent Director and advisor to ambitious founders on how to strengthen governance, build effective technology strategies, and scale their businesses with clarity and discipline.
